About Me

I learned a lot of things the hard way in building my practice since 2009. As my knowledge grew, I helped other clinicians with questions or concerns. I have helped other clinicians build their practices, supported and encouraged them and helped them find their strengths. I have been extremely successful helping many clients and wanted to offer my expertise to other clinicians to help clients and have a successful business. When I started New Outlook Counseling Center, it was just myself in a small office space. I have grown the business into having two practice locations, 18 clinicians, a CNS, a medical assistant, and 3 admin staff. The practices offer both in person and tele health services.

Personal information

I was raised in a Michigan and moved to Indiana after meeting my husband. I have older stepchildren who have long been out of the house. We have an amazing son, 3 dogs and a cat….yes we are outnumbered by our pets. We also have a grandson too! I didn’t start out planning on being a counselor; as a matter of fact I was in a business related field. However, when I discovered I was enjoying my volunteer work better than my “day job”, I knew I needed to get my Masters in Social Work.  Since receiving my Graduate degree, I have worked in a variety of mental health settings from school social work to medical social work to community mental health to inpatient hospitals while always maintaining some private practice work on the side.  When I am not providing therapy and running a business, I am enjoying time with family, traveling, relaxing in the pool and watching Netflix.

B.S in Communications from Central Michigan University and a Masters in Social Work from Western Michigan University where my concentration was on Children and Adolescents. I have my Licensed Clinical Social Work license in both Indiana and Michigan. I currently hold a temporary license in Illinois and am pursuing full license there as well as other states so I can continue tele health work. I’ve been through the Foundational and the Advanced Intensive DBT training, received my certificate in Collaborative Divorce Training, taken Level 1 of Theraplay and am Registered Play therapist. I’ve also been trained in EMDR. I have over 10 years of experience of owning and operating a group private practice, which includes credentialling for insurances, billing practices, hiring and training staff, and overall day to day processes.
